Nars Radiant Cream Compact Foundation

Nars Radiant Cream Compact Foundation

Nars released its newest foundation recently. It is a cream foundation that comes in compact form. Its called Radiant Cream Compact Foundation. This foundation costs $43.00 Canadian for 0.42 oz. This price is only for the foundation refill. You have to spend an additional $12.00 for the actual compact. At Sephora this foundation comes in 15 colours but 5 more may be released. These shades offer a range of pink, yellow, peach and brown tones. Nars fails to offer more than 1 olive tones foundation though.

" New NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation brilliantly evens skin with a lightweight, luminous finish. Combining the supple feel of a cream foundation with the sleek ease of a portable compact, the Advanced Emulsion Technology formula may be applied wet or dry for artistic versatility. Blending seamlessly with weightless medium buildable coverage, skin feels soft and comfortable with moisture levels boosted by 80% after 12 hours, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and enhancing skin's radiance." - Nars Cosmetics

According to www.NarsCosmetics.com, studies show that over 90% of women saw results in their skins appearance when using this product. I love the idea of trying out a cream foundation for touch ups and being able to toss my foundation in my purse is a huge bonus.
Food for thought... after applying this foundation we powder to set it to ensure it lasts longer and doesn't move. Would applying foundation for touch ups throughout the day on top of the powder we used to set the foundation make us have cake face like most liquid on top of powders do?

I personally feel that this product is too expensive. The refill cartridge is C. $43.00. You have to pay an additional C $12.00 for a compact. These two products together cost a total of C. $55.00 before tax. This combination is the same cost of both Nars Sheer Glow and Nars Sheer Matter but you receive more than double the product with these foundations. Yes, Nars compact products are more expensive  (Nars Powder Foundation SPF 12: C. $65.00 for .40 oz)  but I would never use Nars Powder Foundation SPF 12 on its own. I would only use it for a light dusting to set foundation with a little extra coverage. Therefore the powder would last a long time. I would use the Cream, Compact Foundation as my everyday foundation as well as to touch up throughout the day. If I used it this much the price would not be worth it because of how fast I would go through this product. I went to purchase this product Wednesday night but after breaking down the cost i returned this product back to the shelf. Yes, you do not have to purchase a new compact with every refill but as everyone knows that Nars packaging gets dirty with time and is impossible to clean. I would not want to toss a dirty compact into my purse defeating its portability purpose. Maybe I would consider purchasing this product again if Nars made a price adjustment or included the compact with the actual foundation.
